3 Amigos after steel wheels mounted
After 20 miles on the steelies the 3 amigos appeared. Is this due to the extra weight of the wheels? If I get them cleared, can the system adjust to my new setup?
The ABS sensors do not know how heavy your wheels are, nor do they care. All that I can think of is that there is a bigger magnetic field and that is throwing them off.
Your ABS sensors are just magnets.
Clear the codes, if they come back, put the alloys back on and then clear them again, if they stay off...you know why.

It could be bad timing. I had the three amigos a few months ago, and had them cleared and have been fine since then. I only have one set of tires and two sets of wheels so swapping wheels isn't really an option. I'm taking it to Cerrone's tomorrow, after going to the drive line shop. I have a sheared front d/s zerk that needs removal.
Are the wheels new, or old and possibly one may have a twist in it?
Did you use steel wheel lugs or the old lugs from your alloy wheels?
What did you torque the wheels at?

The wheels were purchased used and mounted with the steel lugs, torqued to 103 ft/lbs. I just got back from Cerrone's and had the codes read. It's an intermittent front left sensor, which is the same fault I had last April when the 3 amigos wouldn't go away.
