All codes remain resident in whatever ECU until the faults are fixed, the codes highlighted and then cleared. You need a diag tool to highlight and clear codes.

Any fault code for the ABS is stored in the SLABS Unit & can only be cleared with a LR compatible scanner than can read ABS codes/faults. Only ECU on a D2 that won’t store codes permanently is the ACE ECU.

Good news (?) for me my modulator passed all the basic electrical tests and no brake fluid on the switches. Now I can clean the truck and check all the sensor connections, while I wait for the Navcom.

Update got the nanocom loaner, thanks ACG, the left rear sensor had 16 intermittent faults.

Cleared the faults drove and tested all is good on that front.

Figured I would do a power bleed while I had the gear, brake fluid from left rear was literally almost black over 5 cycles, right rear was a only a bit discolored.

Looks like a full brake systems flush is in order.

Default bad Brake Fluid

This is what came out of my right rear when bleeding - there is a piece of hose in there too. If you are not familiar with brake systems this is bad you need to do a full flush and brake test.

My pedal stays solid so no leaks, but it will take a couple of liters of fluid through, to make me feel good about the the system.
