Default 3 Amigos...revisited

First, as a "lurker" for a while, thanks to all who have groomed this forum and made it a fantastic resource.

My DII came with the 3 Amigos from the time I bought it a few months ago. Initially, they appeared about once a week, but now they're almost constant.

The symptoms:
1. May not appear at all, or may appear just after turning on the car.
2. Usually appear after about 5-10 minutes of driving, whether my foot is on the brake or not.
3. Appear more often in warmer weather.

The facts:
1. Faulted Shuttle valvecodes and hadswitch service kit SWO500030 completedwith previous owner.
2. I have no local dealer (within 2 hours)
3. I have a service manual
4. I have checked all the sensor leads at the connection--appear to be good.
5. ABS appears to work well with lights on.

My questions:
1. Can I flush/bleed my brakes myself successfully using the service manual procedures without Testbook?
2. Can I successfully install kit SWO500040 (shuttle valve repair kit) without Testbook?

I love the truck and am willing to put-up with some typical issues, but would rather not just throw more money at a known issue when I could probably do most of it myself. Thanks for the help!

Yes, you can bleed the system with out the Test book and I don't believe you need the test book as far as installing the new shuttle valve, you will need it to clear the codes when completed.
E-mail me your tele number if you want more information and I'll call you.
