I ended up getting 315/75r16s with 30mm spacers on the Disco. For anyone interested, I had to:
fit wide arches (a ton of cutting including a HUGE amount of the rear door. you can panel beat them together and seam seal), I fit them high as I could and a few inches apart in the rear
greg davis rear and rewire turn signals to upper lights
4" lift
4.37 gears/ashcroft half shafts & cvs, drives well on the highway
beat in the flange in the front wheel well
trim the ARB (getting removed soon anyway since bent under winching and bad approach angle)
remove TF sliders (also getting removed after bending) or trim/cap them
The front flares still rub badly on a flex ramp but will probably bend them out using a heat gun. All together, took a few years but super happy with the result.

Here's a random photo dump, I could maybe make something more organized when not on my phone. We used loctite foam for a backing then seam sealed the rear doors with 3M seam sealer after beating the panels together with a body hammer. You're really cutting triple metal because the metal that shows when the rear door is open. I ended up beating the innermost metal & fender liner behind the rear quarter up flush. Bumper is also welded to the frame since we had to make custom spacers and the instructions call for it anyway. Like I said, it still rubs in the front. Once that's fixed could probably stuff 37s.
Second pic is with my D1 on a 5" lift and 34s flexed on a stump.
May as well share this too, some photos of other stuff I've done. The Pendleton headliner is probably my favorite. She's loaded up to go to WV for a few days this week.
I bought some 315/75/16 and assumed they are 35's but they are actually 34.5" not 35's. Doesn't seem like a big difference but if you want true 35" you will have to trim more

I see people say this all the time but you are running 35s. The truth is no tires are true to size, notice the tires actually labeled 35 only have a true diameter of 34.5". This is true across manufacturers too.

I understand what you are saying and not trying to knock ya, coopers website lists them as 34.53". I have the same size in KM3's and they are 34.6. My stock wheels are 285/75/18 duratrac manufacture spec is 35.1" diameter. Was just saying these 2 tires fit differently on my disco and had to compromise.

I understand, I just see a lot of talk about "true 35s" but most tires labeled 35x12.5... are only 34.5" in diameter. BFG/Cooper are obviously reputable too. I guess they want to label them something nice. Either way, 315/75r16 is pretty much a standard 35 to me. I have a buddy whose 37s actually measure just about 38". I'm sure this varies across manufacturers.

I just wish they would make something in a 16" in the 34-35" range a bit more narrow to cut down on weight and mass!
