If anyone has the skills to modify the design of the panel that would be appreciated! I dremeled out the switch hole and needed to dremel notches on each side so that the metal spring clips from the ashtray would work like the original. I also attempted to create a different design with three round holes but FreeCAD layers seemed to want to fight me for hours.

Having no idea how to 3d model anything I quickly put together a cover for the screws on the driver and passenger seat arm rest if anyone wants it. It probably doesn't look like the original since I didn't have the originals but it fits in the hole perfectly and seems to look decent. It's about a 15 minute print

You could also create things with ABS sheet and acetone. It takes some time, but it is cheap and fun. After sanding and painting it looks like a molded part.

I replicated 95 softdash door speaker covers.... Working on the center dash fascia as well, but this one has been slow, my 3D scanner sucks and I've been busy.

I also have the door lock cam but those were recently available again.

Finally, I have a custom design switch pro 9100 mounting bracket for an LR4
All of these products really designed for printing on SLA, but may still work with FDM. I'm happy to share but prefer to share in trade for native CAD file or at least step file of other needed parts. Most parts are very simple, but some of them took many hours of design and printing to test fit and perfect

Default 3D printer choices

Starting the process of trying to find replacement plastic parts for my newly acquired 99 Disco 2.

Many are either overpriced or just plain difficult to get.

With cyber Monday approaching, was looking to delve into the 3D arena. Can anyone recommend a decent user friendly printer. I’m thinking an ABS tolerant type for parts large and small.

Thanks!

Hi Dave,
Sweet, I just purchased an Ender 3 pro $100 and another $65 for a spool of PETG and digital calipers along with nozzle upgrade and metal feeder.
I would suggest PETG, resistant to temperature and UV rays, which will save you the need for ventalation and a costlier printer to begin with.
The biggest speed bump is going to be your ability to design/scan the part you want replace.
For instance, the windshield cowl in my case. Large part in which you'll need a much bigger printer plate or print it in pieces that can connect together. Steep learning curve on that one, which I'm hoping to tackle at some point. Currently just finishing up a shifter spacer, fingers crossed, for my center console.
Or additionally the rain gutter corners, which are on here, made total sense to go out and get the printer due to the trade off.
Learn something new for minimal cost and make it at home or pay out the nose.
Hope this helps.

Default Does anyone have the 3D printing files for the full cup holders

Hey I'm hoping someone has the files for the full disco 2 American cup holders.
Not just the insert?
Been chasing these for a bit.
Below are pictures of what I'm looking for.

Anyone have a file for these?
Cheers

For the entire cupholder check your local junkyard, ebay or Will Tillery with roverguy.com

It seems there might be 2 different cup holders. Check Thingiverse, I printed one that didn't fit mine and made one that did.
