Update:
The smell is now gone after 6 days of sitting in a parking lot with the windows slightly open. The more I look at it the more I like it (which is good since I can't really undo it). The color contrast works really well with the black interior trim. Someone with more knowledge of spraying paint might have better results than my amateur attempt. Now all I need is my custom neoprene seat covers and I'll be set! For now...

im curious as how it would fare in 40-50 degree celsius desert conditions. i have a saggy headliner too and my interior is mostly dark gray and black plastic so i think black will blend in perfectly. would be better if we can change the color though. would an enamel (paint) top coating work after its completely dry? or is it chemically incompatible with rubberized paint?
