Just got these in the mail. Rocker Arms Unlimited in Redding, CA. Sent in a set of cores and got these back 2 weeks later. Re-bushed arms, re-chromed and ground shafts, checked and refurbished cups and tips - original LR parts. Prompt, friendly service, and a very fair price. I’m confident they’ll work well - but will double check against engine manual before installing.

Out with the old…

Got some wiring to clean up and new sensors to buy before putting the new engine in.

I think starting a brand new engine would be both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.

Paint it with clearcoat paint before you start it to seal the aluminum from oil stains

SUCCESS!!!

Fired right up and ran smooth. 30 min at 2-3K RPM to break in the cam with break in oil and ZDDP. Changed oil (more ZDDP) and filter and have about 150 miles on it so far. No more leaks (yet)!

Truly surprised it ran after all the new parts and engine compartment re-wiring. New coil packs, refurbed injectors, new plugs and wires, crank and cam position sensors, replaced all injector connectors, CPS connectors, knock sensor connectors, and a hand full of more connectors due to cracked/brittle wires.

Hope the cam survives…

A few codes - mostly due to bad upstream O2 sensors. Waiting to run normal oil (Shell Rotella) after 500 miles before new O2 sensors.
