4.11 ring and pinion on stock tires?
So we all know when upgrading to 33"+ tires a change to 4.11 ring and pinion is recommended to help regain some of the lost power. Eventually I plan on running 4.11s and 33" tires, but for now would it make sense to convert to 4.11 before getting my new tires? My new job has me running all over NJ every day, I drive probably 200 miles a day some days and I'm wondering if it will help at all on the highway.
The lower gear ratio will turn the axles faster, but then install the bigger tires which turn slower that offsets the faster spinning axles.
The bigger the overall diameter of the tire the slower it spins.

You ,may find yourself actually getting slightly better gas miliage as a result of the engine having to do much less work to get you rolling.
I did on my rubicon when i went from 4.11s to 4.88s. you will enjoy the better low end torque till you change to the 33s. If you run on the highway a lot you will find your engine screaming if you are speeder.
