Since I own two of these rigs and plan on doing so for a long time I thought this was some good info to share will you all. Ran across this option to rent an engine block pressure test kit from Motorcars Ltd Tool Rental Program. As we are all prone to head gaskets leaks this may be a good additional procedure to be sure your not chasing your tail.

Here is how I did mine. I came up with all this in a day from Lowes and a machine shop that gave me some aluminum blocks and thick rubber. I used head bolts as clamps on wood to block off the coolant ports. Sorry for the poor video did all this by myself on my iPhone.

Bosshogt I had seen your set up before. What I thought was cool was the sealed up water pump they offer. I'm sure you can do this many ways. Did you pull your engine to find out the block was good? I can't remember all the details about your situation? I really enjoy working on these trucks, in my opinion they are built very well compared to the comparables in the class.

I bought and parted a 2004 Discovery. It had a bent piston rod from hydro lock. I bought it in Atlanta, towed it home to Indy. Sold the rolling chassey with no motor, trans, TC for $1000 in profit in two weeks. The entire engine was dissembled in the back. I have dissected easy part off it since last April. I have added a few parts to my 2003 and kept the good stuff as spares for myself. I am temped to do it again, as I have learned a ton. Ive become an official shade tree mechanic and probably have seen deeper inside a Rover than most other folks.
