Does anyone know the piston ring end gap for the 4.6?
My laptop is dead and the power cord is MIA.
That's where I have the Rave manual downloaded.
I have it on my phone too...but it won't open.
Murphy's Law prevails.
I also just spent 30min searching the forum, and came up with nothing.

19. Using feeler gauges, measure and record
clearance between piston and left hand side of
cylinder- viewed from the front of cylinder
block.
l Piston to bore clearance = 0.020 to 0.045
mm (0.001 to 0.002 in).
20. Insert piston rings into cylinder bore, use the
piston to hold the rings square to bore and
check the ring gap.
l 1st compression ring = 0.30 to 0.50 mm
(0.012 to 0.02 in).
l 2nd compression ring = 0.40 to 0.65 mm
(0.016 to 0.026 in).
l Oil control ring rails = 0.38 to 1.40 mm
(0.015 to 0.055 in).
21. Remove piston rings from bore.
The first diagram shows the inverted piston. That's key. You've got an empty block. The pistons are on your desk, not in the motor. You place your first piston ring into the cylinder and use your upside down piston (inverted) from over there on your desk to gently push the ring down into the cylinder because that will make it perfectly level in the block.
You lift the inverted piston out, leaving the ring. Then you stick your feeler gauges one at a time into the ring gap to measure. You then remove the piston ring and grind the gap to spec, essentially blueprinting this part of your motor to precise tolerances. Kinda cool!
Also, you don't want the gap smaller than specs ... otherwise you risk a piston binding in the block when heated.
