Default 40mm Aluminum Radiator With 2 Electric Cooling Fans

The fans are 12 Volts and the Battery is 12 volts. Without constantly running - the fans block the radiator/inhibit airflow. I have lots of electrics hooked up to the car already and am concerned fans will draw more power than the alternator can replace thus leading to slow overheating with no warning. I am not sure this is a good idea. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hi, I am all for cooling using a larger thicker radiator but I'm certainly no fan of electric fans (excuse the intended pun) as if they break down and you are in town there's no cooling effect at all and it is also a heavy drain on the battery and alternator.

Is this a system you've already installed or that you're looking at installing?

If you're looking at installing, check out my signature. It'll be near the bottom of the boost linked. I out together what I believe to be the ultimate D2 cooling system. All aluminum radiator, no more plastic anywhere in the whole system, and a large electric fan. It's all budget friendly, too, relatively speaking.

When I 2as driving mine I was running a CB, large aftermarket sound system, Hid Lights, and the electric fan. I never had any issues. I did install a voltage gauge to keep an eye on it though. Never had an issue.

Also, why are you going for a pusher setup? A puller setup (fans in the back of the radiator) is more efficient. The fans in the back won't block airflow too much, but they don't push as much as they can pull.
