Default 4x4

I purchased a 99 discovery 11 and love it got for a great price, the only thing is the three amegos that need to be repaired. My question is this is my first land rover and the 4x4 is in high is that where it should be or in nuteral. When I try to put in nuteral I get a warning light.

It is a full time 4x4, it MUST be in hi or lo, if you leave it in neutral it will roll away even with the transmission in park.

Well unless you've set up a center diff lock, you're really running a 4x1 with the 3 amigos.
