Anyone buy a Hawkeye tool on ebay, from England? Any mail Import duty?
Several British guys are selling new Hawkeye diagnostic tools on ebay, so I was wondering if one has to pay any mail customs duty on them, or are they duty free? If you bought any Hawkeye on ebay, I would love to hear about how the whole transaction went, please?
I bought one pretty recently on eBay. (from this seller: Ribble Valley 4x4 Ltd)No import duty or taxes. The confusing VAT charges are only for European nations I believe. I had a great experience. It arrived quite quickly and I didn't have any issues at all.

I've bought a hat from England, a nanocom from Cyprus and I don't think I had to pay duty on either. I wonder if it gets paid before it gets shipped?
I've got a fuse box for my defender coming from ebay in the uk. I hope to not be charged anything on it either, but with the purchase price as low as it was, it wouldn't be too big of a deal if they charged me.

Both of my recent international purchases came through the postal service, so maybe that's why I didn't get a bill.... USPS isn't known for being efficient or consistent.
Thank you so much for the information, guys, very informative; that pretty much answers my questions on this issue. Jack
Duty will be applied if the item is classified as non-duty free. There is no way around that.
But, if the value is less then $200....then, there shouldn't be any duties applied. It is considered a mail entry.
But then again, it will all depend on FedEX, DHL, and Etc....declaration....
