x2 Sounds like a sticky injector. Doesn't explain the coolant loss however.

coolant leak.....i cant do a damn thing about that one....to many possible places for leaks to occur...if you got time, run a little florousent (i know my spelling is horrible) dye through the coolant system....any external leaks will show up then. of course this should be done after a pressure test.

COOL!!

That would explain why it only smoked one or two times and others times there is no smoke / rough idle at all - Not to mention the fouled plug. But why would the injectors not sputters, cause a mis-fire, etc while driving? (only issues when I first start the truck).

Is there a Flush / flow test / Injector pattern test procedure that can be performed, or do they need to be replaced?

Next question is where is the best place to buy injectors? AB has them for $155 ea. and all eight for $1,190 (I guess I won't be doing all eight) Once replacing the O2 sensors and get the injectors straight it should do wonders for my fuel economy.

Still need to find the leak though!

This has been a huge help. - Thanks Guys.

I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome.

flush, flow test , etc. there is none that I would recommend. I would say this is one of those expensive LR things, bite the bullet and replace them all. If you really need to hold off (I do see that you dip into your LR trust fund quite often) Run some chevron techron and the fuel injector cleaner through the tank...should help it a little while you get your funds together.

looks like I will need to pull the intake off to get to them. I ran the sea foam treatment about 10K miles ago (Disco Mikes procedure)

I was thinking, since the last code (P1319) that showed up, can it be possible that in the event there is a coolant leak the injector is getting clogged by the coolant in the cylinder? Then again the plug is fouled and not "super clean" as described earlier in the thread.
Any thoughts?

highly unlikely. If coolant was getting in there, that plug wouldnt look like that. For testing, drop some dye in there, run the truck, then pressure test it when its cool. with a florescent light, it will show up bright as day.

If you have dexcool in it you might not even need the dye, that stuff glows like a velvet Elvis poster under a black light.

Added the UV dye to the coolant today, still no signs of a leak. I also checked the dip stick with the black lamp lamp and no glow there. Moving onto the block test and will post my findings.

Update:

Ok, Just performed the block test (twice for good measure) The test came up negative, no CO gases in my coolant. =)

Also, prior to performing the test (after letting the truck cool down from the 60 mile commute home from work) I detected some dye on the fender well and frame rail under the coolant reservoir with the black lamp. It looks like coolant came out of the overflow tube. (I checked to make sure there are no cracks in the plastic tank) So after performing the block test I made sure I filled the coolant to the proper level and removed the any air trapped in the system.

I am not sure If I have a bad reservoir cap, or if the system was over filled. I am pretty sure I had the coolant at the right level.

Couple of questions:
(1) If I have a bad cap wouldn't the signs be over heating and not releasing the pressure?
(2) Is it normal to loose a little coolant out of the overflow tube?
