Always good to put what you have in your sig (see mine as an example), or at least in your profile.
Makes it a lot easier to answer questions.

If you have an R380, the 5-speed, you need 2.8 qts of Redline MTL for the main gearbox.

Also, a lot of people complain of problems running platinum plugs in D1's.

I recently purchased a 95 Disco with 81k. It has the 5 speed. I changed the fluids and put a synthetic ATF in the 5 speed. Is there a service bulletin from Land Rover on using something else? My service manual says to use ATF.

I want this vehicle to last a long time and want to use the proper fluids.

Thanks,

George

You should be using MTF in the R380.
Redline MTL is the lube of choice.

Thanks for the input. I will order it and change the transmission oil again.

Check some local speed shops, they often carry Redline.

Josh, I saw your sequence of things you do.
I would suggest that you do the Oil change after
you do the intake cleaning and after you run a few bottles of Techron through the engine fuel system, this will remove as much loose dirt as possible.
No need to contaminate your fresh oil with intake contaminents
