The best advice I can give you is to pick something that you want to do and then start a new thread..."how did I..." and we will be glad to explain it to you.
90% of the work can be done with basic hand tools and time.
Never take the truck to the dealer as they will just take your money.
Any shop can work on a LR, dealer only is a huge wives tale.

Mike,
Can you tell me what year the part numbers are for? I just got a 2003 with 59,000 on it and am getting stuff ready to complete the list. I looked at the auto parts stores here and the oil filter (Oil filter, K&N 3001 or Mobil 1- 301) is not the same part number. I come up with K&N HP-2004 or Mobil M1-204.

Thanks for the help.

Darin

The reason for the difference is the filter I have listed is a larger version of the factory, by about 40% for the same number.

Bob,
Once you get some engine experience under your belt you will see that is not a true statement. Even the auto manufacture recommend this type of service.

I just changed the front and rear diff fluid and the belt, the rear diff fluid was about the color of crap brown and the front diff fluid was crap green, how the heck does fluid turn dark green......BLAH. Ran out of time for the other stuff, I'm afraid to see what color the transmission fluid is.

Mike,
For the engine flush, do you just drain oil, fill with atf, drain atf, fill with new oil? Or do you run the engine a bit with the atf in it? When you say service the tranny I assume you mean new filter and gasket as well? Do you recommend changing the atf twice in a short period? How do you do an induction cleaning? Sorry if this is to many questions all in one go! I have never done an engine flush or induction cleaning, but have done all the other stuff on other vehicles I have owned. Any help would be appreciated.

Why would you just pore 6 qts. into the engine and then just drain it?? Makes no since.
Send me your tele number and I'll walk you thru this stuff.
