85 miles on half a tank of gas

Some of you guys are getting 13-15mpg? I have been consistently getting 300 miles out of a tank. Running Duratrac 265-75-16 with a TF 2" lift. Mostly freeway, but usually cruising about 70 or sitting in traffic, thank god this is not my daily driver either. A/C on most of the time, I am using the Auto function of the climate control system.

Well let's see 340 miles divided by 24.6 which is the fuel tank capacity comes out to 13.82 mpg. That sounds about right since I average 12 in the city and 15 on the highway. I run premium, don't drive over 65, not lead footed, carry a light load, run my tries at 40 psi, have a fairly new MAF, and the 60k mile service was done not to long ago.

Man are you guys makin me jelous! I have to drive like a granny to get 250(tire size corrected) miles out of a 22 gal fill. I want the weather to break so I can get out there and do my plugs and wires. And induction cleaning. And air filter. And throttle body cleaning. And clean the maf.

Remember to calibrate for tire size, heres a good example;
Stock Tire =255 / 70 R16 (Diameter of 30.1 inches)
New Tire = 265 / 75 R16 (Diameter of 31.6 inches)
-5.31% Error in speedometer and odometer readings
Ergo when the speedometer says 65mph, you are actually traveling at 68mph
If you are calculating 15mpg, you are actually getting 15.8

I usually tend to get just over 17 mpg when on the highways, but my stop & go driving gets more like 14 mpg... I always use 93 octaine 100% gasoline (no ethenyol). I drive mine hard and often find myself driving 80 keeping with the flow of traffic. I never let it get low enough for the light to come on, but the one time it did come on I filled up a few miles later and it took about 20.25 gallons. I also usually have 200-400lbs of equipment that I'm hauling in the back for work

The 4.6 is in fact thirstier than the 4.0 but I don't know by how much.
