Default 93 Disco not starting

Hi everyone
I have a 93 Disco. 3.9 V8 it run on Fuel and Gas (Australian) and just turns over but does not start, if by chance we get it started it just stalls after we start to drive it. Anyone in here understand our setup of the car the Australian way and on a general basis what could be wrong?. Thanks guys

Something like 1988 I think.

Fuel as in gasoline/petrol and gas as in LP Gas.

Midgie, the basic principle is this: an engine needs fuel, air and spark to run. One of those elements is either missing or is failing.

Does it run the same way on petrol and gas?

First you need to check for spark, then for fuel pressure then for gas pressure.
To check spark remove one spark plug and reattach a lead, have a friend crank it over while you watch for spark.
If it sparks then put the plug back.
On the right hand side of the engine there is a schrader valve, it looks like a tire vale, remove the cap and press the nipple with a screw driver after you have turned the key on.
Does fuel shoot across the garage or dribble?
If it dribbles then change the fuel filter, behind the right rear wheel.
If you still dont get fuel pressure then odds are the fuel pump is bad.
As for gas pressure, all you can do is make sure the tank is full and then change the regulator.
The other problem may be your switch to switch back and forth from gas to petrol.
You can only have one fuel source at a time, so both gas and petrol cannot be on at the same time.
