Default 96 Discovery SE7 Front Wipers

Hello all,

I just recently had a problem with my driverside wiper. When I turn them on the driverside wiper doesnt move except for a little motion in time with the passenger side wiper. Based on this I think the motor is running fine but something is just not catching (sorry for the lack of technical nomenclature) so the driverside wiper is not moving. I have zero understanding of what actually makes up a wiper assemply but Im hoping there is just a worn part or something needs to be tightened down instead of a complete replacement.

I have a 96 Discovery I SE7. I appreciate any help.

Thanks!

The first thing you want to do is make sure the arm is actually tight on the splined pivot it is attached to. There is a nut that locates the arm on the tapered spline. It may have backed out. You have to gently pry the plastic cover up to gain access to the nut.

Thanks Geoman! Exactly what you had said. Popped the cover off the wiper assembly and found the locking nut so loose I could take it off by hand. Tightened it up and now Im back in business.

Thanks again!
