How old are the brakes, when was the brake fluid last changed, do you feel the brake pedal pulsate if you hit the brakes hard?

I'm having the same problem on my 96 Disco. 127k miles

I've checked the fluid and it seems fine. There seems to be plenty of pad left on the brakes.

Yes Mike, there is a pulsating to the resistance. It's scary when it happens.

Thanks,

Kyle

When the brakes do this are you trying to stop faster than normal?
Can you get the brakes to do it in the last part of a stop, slowing down
then slaming on the brakes?

Two things that I have found, one is the brake fluid change the other
is the rubber brake lines.
The brake lines are due to be changed at 100K as they get old they are like balloons.

Is your anti-lock light on? I have a '97 and my light is on and my brakes do this as well.
I have changed the fluid but it still does it.

Hey everyone, I just sold my 97 Disco that I had for the past 5 years. I crashed it and didn't feel like fixing it so I sold it as is on Ebay. I had also bought on ebay a set of Land Rover Discovery Front/Rear OE OEM BRAKE ROTORSIncludes R1Concepts Semi-Metallic Brake Pads! I didn't include them with the sale, so they are 4 sale if anyone is interested.

I don't want to list them on ebay due to cost, but I figured I'd get some good hits here.
