97 Disco Radio Install help
#11
Ok, I just rewired my ground. I put it under the glove box as suggested, but maybe not exactly where I was supposed to. The metal was relatively thin, enough for one thread to catch, but that was about it. It SIGNIFICANTLY cut down on the noise, but not completely. It is definitely bearable for the time being until I get around to relocating it to a better location.
On the plus side, whoever had the vehicle previously sound dampened , well, about everything. It made it a pain to get to bare metal, but it was a nice surprise nonetheless. I also disconnected the changer. Rover Chris, you mentioned you managed to remove the changer without taking out the seat? How was it secured? I didnt look too hard, but I didnt see how it was mounted from my obstructed view from the back seat.
Anyway, Thanks for the help guys. You hit the nail on the head. And to other with the problem, yes the harnesses linked in the first post seem to work just fine.
