Default 97 Discovery Lift

Does anyone have any experience installing a lift? Is there much more to it that swapping out shocks springs and bushings? What, if any, trouble will I run in to with driveline angles and such? Any suggestions on the best kit? I found one from D.A.P. for $599 including springs, Pro Comp shocks, bushings, and hardware- 2" or 3". DAP Enterprises

no more than 3" lift you will not have any drive line problems. I am running 3" with no problems on my 98. I am gonna go to 4" after x-mas, and hope for no problems. You can get away w/o new shocks with 2-3" lift but arctulation is not that well. The pro comp 9000's are a good shock for the price. DAP sells 4 pro comp 9000 shocks for $150 and 3" big blue springs, for $230. don't know where your getting and extra $220 for hardware which you can pick up at any bolt store, and there really are no busshings in a lift kit. there are spring isolators but you can use the stock ones.

I'd stick with either OME, or Rovertym springs, but thats me. And I would not give a nickle for a truck load of Procomp shocks....

3" RTE Springs = 295.00
OME Shocks = 300.00
Front Brake Lines = 44.00

like i said pro comp shocks are good for there price, they are not even close to OME, fox, or even bilstien. I am running the bilstiens but have a few friends running the pro comps and they like them alot. if you go with any spacers go with rovertyme, thoses guys got there **** together. spring your best bet is prolly OME but if your on a budget the big blues from DAP are not bad, I am running them but will soon go to OME's after the holidays and have the extra cash to make the switch.

here is my opinion for you:

Cheap lift = big blue's 3" springs, and pro comp shocks

better lift, but more $$ = OME springs, and bilstiens

3" or more and it's time to look into extended brake lines.

I got a 2" OME for not much more $$ than your talking about. all that had to be done was changing out the springs and shocks. the front was a lil trickier than the rear but it only took a couple hours. not bad for a shade tree mechanic. I love the way it rides now, even better than factory.
