Default '97 Discovery Wiper Problem

I recently purchased a 1997 Discovery. The windshield wipers work fine on "low" and "high" but don't return to "home" when using intermittent. Sometimes they go part way up and stop other times they go all the way up and stop but they never make a complete cycle. Is this likely a problem in the switch or the motor? Or something else? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It could be either the switch or the wiper motor.
You can get a used wiper motor at www.roverlandparts.com, as well as the switch.
I guess replace the cheapest one first and see what happens.
There is no way that I know of to test either.
The "park" switch is built into the wiper motor so you have to replace the whole thing.

The part switch inside the wiper motor is starting to fail. At some point a new wiper motor will be needed.

Time for a new wiper motor. The park switch is toast.
