Default 98 Disco - Brake problem..

I Purchased my first Disco a month ago, just before it was certified the rear brakes were redone by the previous owner in a shop. Shortly after getting it, I noticed that when I would start it up and back out of the drive way, upon hitting the brakes I would feel a fluttering of the pads (like the abs brakes are comming into effect), but im going like 5km, and that shouldnt be occuring. It usually just does it the odd time in a parking lot. Occured once coming to a stop on a residential street, and felt like it had fairly reduced braking power.Breaking power good in daily driving, just the odd time this happens it worries me. Oh, and Im in Ontario where they heavily salt the roads if thats a possible factor.Do you guys have any idea what this might be? Thanks for help. J

Approx 110 000 miles, and its a1998. My first thought was a faulty sensor, however I know very little about brake system, so it was a complete guess. Do the sensors tend tofail after a certain # miles?
Thanks, J

Yes--ABS sensors are a common replacement item on these vehicles. Problems seem to arise around 60-80K miles. You should take it to a Land Rover shop with a AutoLogic,TestBook, or RovaComm scanner and have them pull the codes, if any, that are stored in the computer. Usually--- a non-responsive sensor will throw a warning light on the Dash. But if the problem is intermittent, itwill just store a code.
