Default '98 Disco Driver Seat

Just got a '98 Disco. The driver's seat adjusts back and forth but the seat back is stuck in a reclined position. Anybody know what typically causes this and if it's an easy DIY fix? A repair shop told me it's typically just a switch that goes bad...

Yes, it could be the switch, might try cleaning and or switch switchs with your other seat first.

I had the same problem with my 97. I finally took my seat switch apart and cleaned the contacts to get it working again. It's worth a shot but be cautious open the switch housing. There are springs and ball bearings inside that like to go flying if you open it to quickly. I did a write up on how I fixed my switch about a week ago that might be helpful. It's titled power seat switch repair.
