Default transmission question

I've been looking for the transmission filter does anybody know where to get it??
Also how hard is this to do??
My cooler pipe is leaking and want to replace them all, so might as well do the the filter because I will have to drain the tranny right?
Please help
thanks

Atlantic British and Rover Connection are good places to find the filters.
It is a fairly hard job to change the filter, the cross member needs to be removed and the "Y" pipe will need to be loosened and moved.

Yes you will need to drain the trans fluid, there is a drain plug for that.
And like Mike said, it is a real PIA to change the trans filter on a DI.
I bought my trans filter from www.atlanticbritish.com

Go to O'Reillys. They should have it.

I just bought a transmission filter for a D1 at NAPA about two weeks ago it was in stock.
I paid around $45. for it came with the little O ring, pan gasket & screen (filter).

I've had good luck with NAPA here in the Denver area getting parts for D1's.

Consider adding a bottle of Lucas to your tranny fluid and also switch over to Vavoline's high mileage Dextron for better results.
