Default 98 Disco I AC recharge question

I picked up a can of r134 w\hose and gauge from the store to charge up the old AC system on my Disco I. But the fitting seems smaller or wont fit the fitting on the AC line, are there two different fitting sizes or am on the wrong AC line ?

You are on the wrong a/c port.

You just need to follow the a/c lines, on my truck is is next to the trans dip stick tube if I remember right.

I just did the exact same thing 2 days ago. The low side port is located along the firewall just to the left of the engine (if looking from the front). Mine actually had an L on the cap and an H on the high side cap. My R134 set-up came from Wal-Mart and has a quick connect fitting. It will only fit the low side port and fits like a glove. Good luck.

Unless you are just completely out one large can should do the job easily. I only used 3/4 of a can to charge both mine and my wife's vehicles. Just follow the directions for gauging the pressure. Have fun and enjoy the cold air!

The system will only take what it needs, so you cannot over charge it.
Keep the can and use it later, the stuff will not go bad, just keep it away from the kids.
