AC quit a week after recharge
My AC on my 06 se v8 didn't feel cold enough so I had an Indy shop recharge my system. I've used them for years and they are familiar with rovers so I have no doubt the work was done correctly. My mechanic told me the refrigerant was low and had been recharged. Air was ice cold for about a week and today I got in and had warm air. The blowers are working fine and the rear ac blows warm as well. Any help is appreciated.

Back to the shop, you have a leak, and freon along with contents of wallet went out into space. They'll find the leak and re-do it. There was a leak to start with that cause the refrigerant to run away. Think about it, the same sort of material is hard at work 24/7 in your fridge, and how often have you recharged it? If refrigerant is gone, there is a leak. It does not "wear out".

Add dye to the refrigerant.
When I had my AC system recharged a couple of years ago, I had the dealer add UV dye to the mix. The idea is that it is then easier to find future leaks.
In my case, there was no specific leak, more just a first recharge in five years kind of thing but you know that at some time in the future, a leak will develop.
