Default 98 Disco Issues

Hello everyone, i'm a new proud owner of a 98 disco with 50500 miles, and it has some minor issues. The Green Machine runs great, but the engine light is on and my buddy hooked it up to his scanner and he said it's a misfire, the truck also runs a little rich. i've been driving it around for a couple of days and it runs like there's nothing wrong. i've been reading alot of the Posts and i think maybe it's because his son has been using 87 octance instead of the recommended 90+. i'm going to change the oil, plugs, and wires and see what happens, but i just want to know what everyone thinks. Thanks

Take it away from your son if he continues to run cheap gas.
Get the codes read and get back to us with the 4 digit numbers so we may better be able to help you.
As for the wire, don't buy them from the local auro parts store or Rover but on line getting a set of 8 mm Magnacor wires, otherwise you will have problems.
