Thank you.
Now if somebody else has a similar problem and they do a search they will know where to look to fix their truck too.

One other question for you all on this topic. I changed out the fuel pump, CKP sensor and the relay all in this "fix". The truck is running great, I drove it about 70 miles in the past 2 days and we have the trailer hooked up with bikes on it for tomorrow.

However, it is having a tough time starting each time. Would this be from the new CKP sensor just like it was running rough right after I first got it running again? Just wanting to make sure this will get better and not burn a starter up in the process of all this cranking before starting.

Thanks.

Also, when the truck is running and idling right now, I can hear the pump running if I am standing back by the rear of the vehicle. I do not remember that in the past. I think there is another issue or am I just paranoid.

I wouldn't worry about it, just don't crank it for more than 10 sec at a time.

Did you use a LR fuel pump or a "make shift" fuel pump?

Ya, I dont crank too long, I DO NOT want to burn up the starter.

I used the Master Brand Part number fuel pump that I found on this site. Not a LR one. Would that make a difference?

Thats your problem, it is a cheaper pump and it is not holding PSI after you shut the truck off and it is just a noisy pump.
Turn the key on, wait 5 seconds then start it.
This will give the pump time to prime the fuel system.
Nothing you can do other than buy a LR fuel pump.

Can you buy a pump and not the whole assembly? Also, I have tried turning the key several times to the on position, letting it prime, then starting and it still takes a few cranks to start it up.

Also, when it starts, it has a few seconds where it idles rough and then smooths out. Have read that it will take a while for the ECM to relearn idle. True?

Yes it will take about 400 miles for the ECU to re-learn.

No, you must buy the whole fuel pump assembly.
I would buy a used one.

Do you still have your old fuel pump? Spike at or about what mileage do the fuel pumps usually go out on D1s?

Sure do, and I am considering putting it back in. Maybe changing out the fuel filter will help as well. Hopefully I can get that done soon.

I will let you all know. Just dont want anymore problems for a few weeks...... Actually our Disco has been pretty problem free for the 3 years we have had it.
