It overheats at idle becasue there is not enough air moving past the radiator to keep it cool, drive down the road and the "ram air" coming though the grill keeps it cool.
Stop moving and all that heat builds back up.
you can also get a coil cleaner from home depot that is in the airconditioning section. Take your front grill cover off and fan shroud off. spray it from both sides and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then spray out with garden hose.

Pressure washing a radiator is completely ok on a D2. On a D1 (copper /brass) use a bit of caution on the ends,tube to header connections, if its good enough to use you should be ok. With the radiator in the truck,its a matter of having the proper "tools" or nozzles. Do not spray at an angle,use only enough pressure to get the crap out. In most cases there is a lot more crap in them than you can see.. Removeing the radiator is the best way.
