Well I thought I knew my vehicle pretty well but I guess there is always something. Here's a silly question for you. Where's the fuel filter, if there is one?? ( 01 DII, 150K) I was looking for prices for the fuel pump I am getting closer and closer to having to buy and since I was going to be messing with the fuel system I started to look for a fuel filter. It seems every LR make has one but the D II's. Is that due to an inline filter that is unternal to the pump or what? The newer vehicles do not seem to have a part listing for that.

 

DII's do NOT have a fuel filter, DI's do.

 

hmpf, go figure, that is pretty much what conclusion I came to but was not expexting.

The DII fuel filter is built into the fuel pump see the Fuel Delivery System in the shop manual for more details.
