Default '99-02 vs. '02-'04 expansion tanks

Miami British sells a coolant expansion tank on ebay for $65 that they claim works on all Disco 2s ('99-04). But Atlantic British sells two versions. One is for '99-02 (up to Vin 2A736339) and costs $69. The other is for '02-04 (starting at VIN 2A736340 and higher) that costs $199. What gives? My tank is starting to break around the outer edges, and I see a replacement needed now. I would prefer to buy one for $65 instead of $199. Does anyone know the difference between these two? Is Miami British selling the '99-02 version for use on '04s?
If I buy the less expensive version, am I at a huge risk (or will it even fit/work)?Any help appreciated.

If you look at a picture of both, I think you will find that all reality, they are both the same.
Whatever you use, replace the coolant pressure cap as well as the t/stat if it hasn't been done before and go green, get away from the Dexcool.

Rockauto.com has the old part number for $39. Not sure of the quality.

I bought a few on ebay for my D1.
they come as white plastic.
So far, the tank on the D1 is holding up.
About $60 or so.

Yeah, don't let that go bad.
They suddenly give way and you are losing tons of coolant.
Been there and dealt with that on the D1

I just wanted to know what the difference is between the two of them. There must be a difference, since there is such a huge price gap.

Also, on a related note, I am getting a new TStat. Want to know if I should spring for the warm weather one from AB. I live in Norcal, in the suburbs of Sacramento. It gets hot here, never snows. Any sources for the warm weather one that are less expensive than AB would be welcome as well, if you think I need the warm weather variety. Thanks.

I just got the motorad 439-180 one off amazon for $40. Probably about $15 cheaper than AB when you add shipping. It's good quality and will lower your temps. I'm just over the hills in Reno, and it does snow here, but I am still running the warm weather t-stat.
