Default 99 DII Radio Problem

Something weird happened with my radio today - perhaps it's because my friend knocked into the cup holder (pulling it right out actually) and spilled some water?

About 3 minutes after that happened, there were a bunch of pops - low in tone and muted but loud - and everything turned to static. She was able to switch over to the CD player from the radio and heard the same static noise. She waited a few hours, checked the car again (not having driven it) and the radio works but there is nothing on the display. Buttons work though.

The only issue now is that the speakers pop every time you switch a radio station or switch to a CD. Also popped when turning the car off.

Maybe bumping into the cup holder could have disconnected something? Or perhaps it is because I plugged my cell phone into the lighter? I have never done that before? Could I have blown a fuse or something?

Thanks for your help!

Pull the head unit out and check the fuse in the back. If it's blown, replace it. If not it must have been the water and you'll probably need a new head unit. You can grab them pretty cheap on ebay, or there's a few other sources.

Electronics dont like getting wet, you need a new stereo.

If you remove it from the truck and bring it inside your house and let it air out for a few days it might work again.
Just make sure you remove the CD before taking it out of the truck.
