I felt bad about calling the guy a lying scam-er and started to put the whole thing back together. Well when I lifted the plastic housing to screw it back in I noticed something stuffed into the plastic chamber on the cover and from there it all unfolded. I took the whole thing apart piece by piece and was amazed at the level of cover up by some lying, cheating, scamming mother f*****!!!!!! take a look at the pics !! duck tape was used to fill the holes then another layer on the inside and still another layer behind the plastic stamped plates.. Unbelievable! All to hide the 3 Amigos! Will dirt-bags rest at nothing to F someone over? I think this should be added to the sticky on "what to look for when buying a rover"........
I put it all back together and voila ! Ola to my bad friend.......
At least I know the cluster works and I have to deal with the amigos.....
F me.
knew that was the case all along.... now get an ABS amigo so you can read the codes.

hehe
Well you found it.
Probably a dealer did that.
Here is another story of woe

---

I went to look at a boat yesterday.
Guy wanted 2,300 for it.
I offered $1,000.
He says come take a look.

Says he is not a mechanic and that a mechanic had looked at the boat and said the starter was kaput.

Said the boat was not his and that it was given to him by a friend who owed him money as collateral.

And, he kept saying he had to go somewhere, so I had to get there pretty fast.
When I got there, he kept saying that the deal had to be completed in some number of minutes.

He did know a lot about the boat.

I told him - I would buy the boat if I could get the crank shaft to move.
Asked him for a socket.
He said - don't have one that fits.

And did not have the battery for the boat.

Went into his garage to admire his diesel conversion projects and
saw a nice battery which would fit the boat on the floor.

He finally handed me a tire iron and I could not move the flywheel of the 4 cylinder 2 stroke boat engine with a tire iron shoved into a tooth where the starter wheel would engage.

So, I said "no deal" and off I went.
Had I bought that boat - oh would I have been sorry, sorry.

I almost did - as I could not believe someone would do such a thing as not disclose the engine was frozen.

Or, maybe I did not use enough force.
But, most cranks of engines will turn pretty easy.

I really wanted that boat.
So, I was and am bummed.

ahhhhhh boats, now that's another story. bought and restored several of those. Last one I bought from a church auction for $200 bucks, restored it and sold it a few years later for 2200. engine had no cables but it ran like a top once i hooked it all up. it was a 105 and I think I needed a breaker bar with the plugs out to turn it. but not sure........

**Well how about this.... hooked it all back up and there are the lights right?
I went out and drove it in a rain storm for an hour or so and the lights went out! came home and put it in low and used the hill decent and it works!!!
lights have not come back on! any chance it just could have been brake dust in the wheel sensors and the rain washed it out for now?
Now who's the dumb ***???

yup. it happens. we had a club outing and the access road was a dusty mess. 3 amigos came on after 10 mins of driving thru. hit a car wash on the way home the amount of crap that came out of the brakes was crazy.. started the truck all is good. been fine for over a month. i have also had 3 amigos for 2 different hubs... sometimes you are lucky
