The Disco up to 2003 uses H4 bulbs so any H4 conversion kit will do. Remember when purchasing HID lights that the hotter bulbs (8000K, 10000K etc) put out less light than cooler bulbs. A 8000K kit will be considerably less light than something in the 4500K - 6000K range which is considered to be pure white light.

Disco Mike is using 6000K in his truck which is white with just a hint of blue. I am running 4300K in both my headlights and driving lights and I'm really happy with the color and light output. I also have the dual beam kit while Mike has just single beams. A lot of people think that the HID kits put out enough light to make high beams unnecessary but I only partially agree. My dual beams use a motor that retracts the bulb and changes the beam pattern when I switch to high beams. They don't get any brighter like a halogen does and it really isn't necessary but being able to change that beam pattern and have the lights shooting further down the road is awesome.

Probably a lot more information than you were looking for but thought I'd pass along what I have found and my thoughts so you can make an informed decision.

I'm not really familiar with the inside of a D2 but pretty sure your radio is a single din. Crutchfield's website will tell you what size the opening is and what will fit.

I have had my HID from VVME installed for a couple weeks and so far so good. They have a wide range of color choices up to 12000K if purple light is your thing.

As AK mentioned, don't just install lights to have blue headlights, if you are going to install them for the extra range, don't go over the 6000K bulbs.
Also, not mentioned yet but which HID's will you use, the single or dual beam?
