99 Disco II Seat heater too hot
I have a 99 Disco II and the drivers side seat heater gets too hot. The light on the button seems to work well. Is there a seperate thermostat somewhere, what should I look for and or replace.....thanks (passenger side works fine) andy ideas so I don't burn my butt anymore?

funny but seat heaters are most common reasons for burned down cars (as i read), from what i know there is no thermostat at all, it is (should) just designed to produce only small amount of heat. Most of the time it fails is because some internal shortcut or that isolation (which acts as heat spreader) is broken.
I would let it check in service.
Mine gets hot but i like it, i switch it off when gets too hot though because since then i dont need it anymore (is warmed enough) and saves the energy

I was getting the same thing, but in my case, just on the door side of the driver's seat. It actually felt like someone was pinching my @$$ on that particular spot. About a month later, it stopped heating entirely, and when I pulled the seat cover back found a scorch mark and small hole where it was burning me. Turns out the heating element shorted out, so now I have no driver's side heated seat. Possible this may be what is happening on your truck, so watch out. I think if I would have left it on, it would have ignited the seat, since none of the fuses blew.

Fuses, no. If you meant the heating element, I didn't get to replace it yet, but it doesn't seem that hard. Just remove the side cover by the door, then unhook the plastic tabs for the seat cover (they are on tight!). Once you get those off, there are several hooks to remove as well. That's as far as I got before work called and I had to wrap it back up in 10 minutes. Just haven't had the time to get the heating element, much less take it apart again..
