Default 99 Disco II Steering damper replacement

I have a 99 Disco II that I just bought a new steering damper for. Question is do I need to get it up on the Jacks and Stands to put the damper on or can I do it with all four wheels on the ground....I don't want to take it off on the ground if I'm going to damage something.....Thanks

Depends on whether or not you fit under there, if lifted you should be OK, if original springs, you may need to jack it up.
