Default 99 Disco problem with removing key

So here is the deal. Put the truck in park and turn the key off and the key doesn't come out. If you jiggle the gear shift the red light on the shift column comes on and then the key can be removed.

I'm assumming that I have a problem with the gear selector??? Can this be adjusted? Problems?

Thanks

I'm not sure if your vehicle is same as 95 disco, but I had same problem... put it in park and the key would not come out. Turns out that the key also was not going into the "off" position all the way. I found that by removing the plastic column cover, you can see a small black plastic cover to the left and forward of the key cylinder. Pop off the little plastic cover and spray some lube on the metal pin sticking out, then work the shifter and key. This pin should drop down and lock the steering wheel (I think). Anyway, this worked for me.

Yes there is an adjustment on the gear shifter, it isint engaging park all the way. You will most likely have to have a shop do it.
