99 Discovery II, needs head gasket, buy it?
I am looking at a 1999 Discovery II with 116k miles. Generally nice shape, probably an 8 of 10 on cosmetics. Needs head gasket, valve cover gasket, throttle body leak, transfer case leak and possibly a rear main seal leak. Pretty wet underneath. Drives really well, much better ride than my Discovery I. Is it worth jumping in? have a quote for the head gasket redo, with plugs, wires, valve cover gaskets, throttle body fix for $2000. They are asking $4500 for the truck. What do you all think? thanks Phil 1999 Disc. I
I wouldnt. In my opinion the DI is a better trk, doesnt ride as nice but is easier to work on.
And that price for the trk is WAY to much with those problems. You could buy a running one for about that price.

Don't give him more the $2500 for it as it sits. Plan on putting a few more dollars into it and don't be in the truck for more then $5000 total.
