I'll give that a try Savannah Buzz.

Would that have caused it to shut off in the first place while it was running?

I put a reader on it over last weekend to see if there were any codes and it didn't show any.

I'll post in here what happens after we arm and disarm it several times.

I've downloaded the manual and I have yet to find a troubleshooting section. If there's one in there do you know what page it starts on?

Thanks again.

We armed and disarmed the alarm 10 times. Then tried to start it. Unfortunately it didn't work.

Are there any other suggestions?

Same problem been hitting my head against the wall. Has spark, has fuel pressure. I sprayed starter fluid into the intake and i would get a backfire once in a while and that is it. It seams that the timing is off but there is no way to adjust the timing on this year.
Anyone have any advice?

Timing advance is adjusted per cylinder on the fly by the ECU. It bases that on the crank position sensor. Sensor could have metal "fuzz" on the nose, or you could have bent reluctor teeth. Or jumped timing chain (not too common on this forum).

But even if you have 30 - 34 PSI of fuel pressure, if the injectors are not squirting it.... Should have +12 on one side of every injector, and the ECU switches the ground to it to spray fuel.

But I'm with you, if spark and timing were right should cough along on starting fluid.

After the repair - do you have spark? Sme times people get the bolts/spacers wrong on assemby and spacing throws it off. Fuel pressure? Six inch vac hose of fuel pressure regulator at driver rear side fuel rail?

ok now it has no spark. I am going to try repositioning the cps. Although there seems to be only one way for it to go in. Does the cps tip need to be centered between those forks in the flywheel? And i had to cut down the small hose that goes from the pressure regulator to the intake manifold. It had a whole right by the pressure regulator so i cut i down an inch. Should i by a new 6 inch piece of hose?

Hose length no important, as long as it is not collapsed or so long it touchs hot metal.

Sensor must go back exactly as it came off. You should use the spacer that came with the truck, there are two sizes of spacer (auto or manual trans).

a lot of people seem to somehow get the assembly order wrong when installing a new CPS. ie. location of the spacers
