Yes you would have ro remove the bulb, I left mine in so that anybody who drive the truck will know that the ABS does not work.
Once the bulb burns out then I will not replace it.

I removed the fuse and VWALLA!! No more Dangerous ABS Fade!!

I did the breaks, replaced a sticky Caliper and then Put the Fuse Back in, just in case the problem got fixed... Heck no.. First rain, coming off of the Highway, gentle right hand turn and small imperfection in the roadway.. DEADLY ABS FADE Returns.. I will be pulling the fuse again tomorrow!!

Tired of my abs. Today I pulled the fuse and pulled the bulb behind the dash. Took fifteen minutes and a couple philips screwdrivers. In my opinion the abs on the disco 1 isn't worth paying out the a$$ for unless you have an extanded warranty. Too unreliable and problematic imo. Got sick of it dangerously kicking on at low speeds. Glad to never have to see that stupid light ever again.

I also replaced the worn out ugly boot on my parking brake. Much easier then I thought. Just twisted off the handle, pulled the boot off and replaced with a new one. Thought I'd had to rip the whole center console up!

I pulled my fuse and it works great but i noticed that it also stopped the climate control from working all together. If i put the fuse back in the fan and ac/heat work again.

anyone have this problem?

I read in the service manual that i should remove the abs valve relay to disable the abs.
does anyone know where this relay is?

Did you pull the fuse under the dash or under the hood?
You want to pull the one from the fuse box under the hood.

Hmmm...I pulled my ABS fuse from under the hood 2 years ago and the only thing it affected was the ABS.
I will try and remember to look tomorrow and see what/where exactly I pulled it from.
