Default ABS-HDC-TC on all at once while driving

Well my '99 Discovery II was driving just fine until all of a sudden...three warning bells and the hdc abs and tc all illuminated. I drive the three blocks home with everything seeming ok. I turned off the ignition, restarted and the lights all did not come back on, but I wasn't driving. Is this the famed and acclaimed 3 Amigos? Just had the master brake cylinder rebuilt 100 miles ago. 125k 4.0. Thanks guys.

The Three Amigos. You probably have an intermittent fault in some part of the ABS system which effects all three systems. You need to read your ABS codes and then search the forum for fixes. Some are easy and inexpensive, others are harder and costly. Start by looking in the stickies at the top of this forum.

I use a small reader called ABS Amigo. There are others that are now less expensive but I'm not familiar with them. A Sticky is a topic that is "stuck" to the top of the forum so they will always be easy to find.

Default Thanks CD

I just had my master brake cylinder rebuilt and rebled etc etc by a Land Rover expert mechanic. Is this something I should have him look at before I do anything first? Because you know if I do, he won't claim any responsibility. Is it possible it's something he did or didn't do? 125k 1999 4.0 Thanks.

Have him read the codes and give you his opinion, then check here if you think he is trying to rip you off. The master cylinder is independent of the ABS modulator which is the typical source of the error codes.

the code reader i use for my amigos is autel 619. you can get the for $165 on amazon they are cheaper than the amigos reader and you can do a lot more with them than just read and clear abs codes.

The amigos problems i have are just from break squeak and dust.

If your breaks are squeaking that could be the problem and if you are using semi metallic the dust could be a problem. when you do your next break job get some akebonos ceramics.

As for that reader i can't remember if i had to do a software update to get it to work with rover or not.

You can also read the brake codes, activate the modulator for bleeding, and read and test everything else on the truck with a $74 autocom cdp+. That unit can also diagnose almost every other obdII vehicle on the road. But at this point, I would think the mechanic that rebuilt your mc would read the codes for you for free.

Default 3 amigos update

Thanks! The brakes are newly ceramic I was told by the seller (just bought this Disco II '99 two months ago for $4k) and no, they don't squeak. I live in Arizona so dust is EVERYWHERE. I jumped in this morning and the amigos didn't come on, but I didn't drive. We'll see today. I will drive by the mechanics and have him read the codes. Thanks for the suggestion for the readers guys. I don't even have $165.00 now for a new one.
