Default ABS and Hill Descent Control lights...

good day to all,

i recently purchased a 2002 Discovery that i'm genuinely and generally happy with. Only problem thus far is the above-subject dash lights illuminating together (on occasion). is it a sensor issue? is the safety of the braking system compromised? previous owner spent almost $700 for brake work at a land rover dealership late last summer.

any/all thoughts and input appreciated.

regards,

grover

You can find hundreds of posts on this as well as other Rover forums regarding this problem.
Is it serious, usually not, can it be expensive, usually not but you do need to get it into a small shop and have the codes read and cleared. Don't take it to a dealer, they will sell you stuff not needed and be very expensive.
