Default ABS Light

Hello there, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here but I’ve just been enjoying the Disco 2 too much lol. So I finally got around to doing the three amigos sticky and got everything put in and 2 of the 3 lights went out. I still had the ABS light on and when I went to scan it my scanner said it was unable to communicate with the ABS module. I double checked the wiring according to the pdf in the thread and made sure the connectors are correct. Could this be a unrelated issue or is there anything else I can try, it’s kind of difficult to pin point it since I can’t see the abs module on my scanner.

you don't have the necessary software on your scanner - you might try the autozone scanner to get the code - they use a scanner that captures pretty much any code and then they go to their computer that goes to the autozone's central database that has all the software - the scanner won't reset it but you will get the code to know what you are dealing with - it is free to borrow the scanner in the parking lot and get the code

First, as you may have already learned, the ABS light does not go out until the truck is driven a little way and to a specified speed (I don't recall the spec). That's for the SLABS to confirm it is "seeing" a signal from all four sensors.

As for your scanner, was it reading the ABS codes previously? Can it read engine management codes? If the scanner worked before but it's not working now it's possible, but rare, that the power feed to the OBD II port in your truck has gone kaput. This happened with a friends truck here and we got it working again. Please let us know.

up until the rear, rusted out brake line decided to start pissing all over the place. that didn't feel so great.
