Default ABS Live Data - WSS

I have a Foxwell scanner capable of reading ABS module data. I’m attempting to track down the cause of an intermittent (Four Amigos) left rear sensor low output error. Sensor and hub are new.

I could drive for days without the light illuminating. Or minutes down the road it just takes a simple bump in the road for the light to come on. Another Amigo trigger, applying the breaks while riding over bumps in the road.

My question is, I am trying to monitor live wheel speed sensor data, but the ABS module drops communication after ~30 mph. Trying to understand if it’s just my scanner disrupting the communication to the ABS module or a simply a function of the ABS module.

I have successful monitored wheel speed sensor data in other vehicles (over 30mph) without disruption in signal communication.

Anyone have any experience w/ Rover ABS modules that have successfully monitored wheel speed sensor data over 30 mph? I have to image so...

No idea about monitoring, but it sounds like you need to replace the left rear sensor, or try to reseat it.

I agree. That’s what I’m leaning towards, reseating the sensor.

I’ve seen where even a marginal layer of rust/pitting on the mounting surface can throw off the signal. I’ll pull the sensor, sand down the surface, reseat ensuring the sensor is seated flush with the mounting surface.

Swap left for right, right for left sensors to see if it is really bad.

Consider finding a Hub on eBay. I did my front hubs, and paid I think 130 or so for both. Then you can keep the stock plug at the wiring harness. I had better luck with the sensors that came with the hubs than with the replacements you solder in.
