Default ABS Module malfunctioning

My ABS Pump stays on when i turn off my 94 disco 1 and the Anti Lock light also is on do you think i need to replace my abs module... Due to this I have to disconnect my battery everytime i turn off my car so the abs pump does not drain my battery. any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

Don't mean to hijack the thread - in my '03 Disco with about 50k on it I can hear a delicate ticking sound from the ABS modulator with the engine off, no key in the ignition. The magic trio is not on, and I have never seen it come on, but I just bought the truck a month ago and only made about 800 miles on it so far (most of it from Virginia where I bought it, to Illinois). Didn't notice the battery draining so far, theDisco stays in my garage most of the time though, so if it was draining severely it would probably show.
In my situation, the truck is under extended manufacturer warranty and I'm having the dealer look at this at this moment. If they come up with something meaningful I'll let you know. I bet they will be much less eager to replace the module than they would be if it wasn't under warranty anymore, but I really want to get some meaningful answer from them as to what this sound is, and obviously fix it so that it stops ticking. If this is a pump, like you are suggesting, I would be probably more worried about the modulator itself then the battery, it will probably eventually fail due to overload or something. From what I saw on the forum it is about $2000 to get it fixed / replaced.

Thanks,
Adrian

Check your relays to make sure they are releasing. Sounds like one is stuck. Passenger side lower panel. There is a clip of relays. Take the front screw out, and they all fold down. There are 2 rows. I think the first 2 on the left (Pump then load)and first on the right (Warning)control the ABS. Pull these out one by one and see if it turns off. When you get to it, replace it with one you know works. It is not a good idea to keep disconnecting the battery. You ECU will lose its memory.

Good Luck!

My truck also makes noice when off, do you have a picture of the panel that needs to be removed? I know I am asking for quite a bit but not sure if you aredescribing inside or outside of vehicle. Thanks once again for your help on this.
