ABS out of not working
I got my disco going yesterday, now I need to figure out what the trouble with the abs is. Of course the dash is lit up like a christmas tree, abs light, traction controll light, and hill descent light... so does anyone have a good idea where to start, namely is there any way to access the codes for this system without a scan tool, the scanner I have right now won't talk to the abs system.
I was wondering if you guys could tell me where the best place to find a factory servioce manual would be also.

http://green-oval.com/joomla/index.p...d=13&Itemid=29 thats the place to download the rave manual... download it and burn it as an image on a cd... instant service manual... well aside from the long time you have to wait for it to download... its a pretty big file...
Regarding the Rave manual I just extracted it and it worked 100% on my pc laptop. I only had to download a program to get it to work on my macbook. Everyone else said I needed to make the fake cd drive for it to work without cd but that wasn't needed for me in either case.
Andy, I will try and burn you a copy of my RAVE CD and bring it this weekend.
Without scanning the ABS ECU there really is no way to tell what is wrong.
Could be anything from excessive brake dust to a bad hub to a bad SLABS unit.
The SLABS unit is the ABS modulator under the hood, there is a rebuild kit for it...$800.
Start buy pulling the wheels off and cleaning the pads and rotors with Brake Kleen. Also check for pad thickness, to thin and it could set off the 3 amigos.

While you have the wheels off, go ahead and tap the wheel speed sensors down into their seats. I had the ABS light coming on every time I went over a slight bump. After seating the wheel speed sensors, it's pretty much stopped happening.
No squeaks, I'm not sure if the abs will kick in or not. All the other systems I have ever worked on were disabled any time the warning light was on, I just assumed that land rovers worked the same way.
By the way who or what are the three amigos? My rotors look to me like they have an excessive amount of wear on them will that do it?
