I'm supposed to be overhauling a tractor engine today, but I went out and played with the disco instad. The ABS system seems to be working fine as does the traction controll, that test required a trip to the car wash afterwards So now I'm more confused, if I understand what this is telling me this system will keep working even if an error occurs? That is a new one on me, all the domestic systems I have ever worked on shut the system down if any problems were detected.

Yeah, it can still work with the lights on. Depends on what the warning is. Need a rover comparible scanner to read/clear the codes...There was a post about one you could buy for a few hundered.

Today the disco gets front rotors and new pads all the way around. Am I seeing corectly that it would be advisable to tap down the wheel speed sensors while I'm in there?
I was wondering if these disco 2s sit lower in the front than they do in the back, I am suspecting my front springs are a bit weak.

If your truck has SLS (self leveling suspension) then yes the front will sit lower than the back when the springs get weak.
If you have coils on all fours then they should settle evenly.

I swapped out all the rotors and pads yesterday. Now my brakes work better, but the three amigos are still smiling at me. I am wondering what the whole tapping down the wheel speed sensors thing is about, I couldn't see any way they move. Is this the equivalent of sending a new builder for a board stretcher?
On another note does any one else have the annoying surge in their cruise control, mine speeds up and slows down about 2 miles an hour going down the highway. It drives me nuts, any ideas on a cure?

We can talk more tomorrow at your shop.
