Default ABS sensitivity difference in SLABS

So I have a couple of 2000 D2's with relatively high miles (218k and 230k), both have ABS errors (one is right rear the other left rear) - permanent failure, intermittent signal, yada yada (Per Delphi DS150). However when I clear the codes and plot data on the computer - there appears to be no problems with the sensors or speed output - nice smooth curves, no gaps in data, steady supply voltage (2.1, or 2.2 I think?). However every time I clear the codes, they come right back within 200 ft.

I have heard that the later model slabs were more fault tolerant, but I am wondering it that applies only the the SRD 500070 or if the more fault tolerance algorithims also apply to the SRD 150's (I have a SRD 150 on the shelf I am going to install tonight just for giggles)? Anyone know? Disco Mike? Rover MasterTech?

Newer SLABS in 03-04 D2’s were supposed to be less sensitive to ABS faults (like from rough roads) with better TC function as well. Both my 99 & 02 with CDL are now running the 04 linkages & SLABS units. I have noticed the TC seems to engage quicker vs before & I’ve been 3 Amigo free for nearly 3 years. They’re cheap enough and easy enough to swap out so I think it’s worth it.

How do tell if a SLABS unit is from an 04? Is the part number different?

X1 ............ and no reprogramming also unlike other on-board ECU's.

The SLABS Units are actually dated. You want 03+, I grabbed a SLABS Unit out of an 03 once at a junkyard that was dated 06!!! Truly a rare find, but it was probably replaced under warranty with the last WABCO SLABS Unit’s the dealership could get their hands on.

People will argue that 03 SLABS don’t support CDL function and that is not true. In other markets outside the US CDL was actually available in 03. If you have an 03 made in 02 I could see it happening with an 02 SLABS, but just check the date on the unit.

Only time the SLABS would need programming was if the SLS option was enabled/disabled per your application.

Ok, so I threw both of my extra slabs in the truck, both gave a red brake warning lamp in addition to the three amigos. Put the old one back in - light gone. I thought the slabs swap was plug and play, no programming needed?

They are 100% PNP, chances are you probably got a SLABS Unit with some stored faults already in them. You've got to clear all the stored faults & then it should be good to go.
